Job description: The Scientific Lead – Clinical Mass Spectrometry will be responsible for the implementation of mass spectrometry (MS)-based analytical workflows in compliance with a laboratory quality management system. They will develop and optimize clinical diagnostic products based on glycoproteomics and proteomics analyses, and design and implement method validation and/or verification of new and existing MS-based workflows. They will ensure compliance of diagnostic products with the requirements of accreditation agencies and regulatory authorities according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Will supervise analysts in the implementation of validated methods. Will uphold high scientific and ethical standards in the workplace and the laboratory and will promote a culture of transparency and traceability across all aspects of laboratory operations.

Requirements: Minimum of a PhD degree in biological sciences, chemistry, analytical chemistry or closely related field plus 2 years of experience in applied mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Specific requirements: Must be well-versed in Laboratory Quality Management System as evidenced by 2 years of experience in a laboratory accredited by an internationally recognized standard-setting organization such as ISO or CMS. Must have 2 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments. Must have extensive knowledge and application of complex sample preparation methodologies as applied to glycomics or glycoproteomics workflows, as well as implementation of quantitative mass spectrometry-based strategies including label-free analyses (DIA, SRM) methods, as evidenced by at least 2 years of experience. Must also have experience in relevant methodologies including feature discovery, protein post-translation modification identification, glycome and glycoproteome analyses, as evidenced by 2 years of work experience. Must have a proven record of being a fast learner, flexible, excellent communicator and mindful team member, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as evidenced by 2 years of professional work.
